Student Advisory Group Member: Kenton Card is a Ph.D. student in Urban Planning at UCLA, whose research interests include the political economy of housing, displacement, and urban commons. Kenton is currently the Managing Editor of Critical Planning Journal. He has an Architecture MS from a network of universities across Europe and the Middle East, and a Sociology BA with high honors from Marlboro College. Kenton has conducted documentary film fieldwork on public interest architecture projects across the United States and forms of collective housing in Berlin, Germany. In practice he spearheaded a multi-year project to design and build a sustainable greenhouse for Marlboro College; he launched a research collective in Berlin called The City and the Political; and he has worked with housing and environmental advocacy with organizations in Sacramento, CA, Housing California and The Planning and Conservation League.
