Tents and Tenants: After Echo Park Lake Online Exhibition
In February 2025, the Tents and Tenants: After Echo Park Lake in-person exhibition opened at the Skid Row Museum & Archive in Downtown Los Angeles in the wake of catastrophic wildfires and subsequent devastation, displacement, and dispossession. The digital iteration of the exhibition makes this material accessible beyond Los Angeles as the fascist turn in America accelerates the criminalization of homelessness, the disappearing of migrant communities, and targeted attacks on free speech. We had always intended for this collection to illuminate the unending crisis that is racial capitalism, and now more than ever we hope that it will provide an occasion to strengthen community in the face of loss, state violence, and silencing of dissent.
