Shanti Singh

Shanti Singh is the Legislative & Communications Director at Tenants Together, California’s statewide base-building coalition of tenant unions and allied local housing justice organizations. Her day-to-day work includes political education and policy & messaging support for local and statewide campaigns for rent control and other tenant laws/protections, as well as public investment in and community control of land and housing.

She formerly co-chaired the San Francisco Democratic Socialists of America and was California Deputy Data Director for the Bernie Sanders 2020 presidential campaign. She is a San Francisco city commissioner who has worked on social housing, public banking, green public banking, and gig economy worker issues, and serves on the board of the San Francisco Community Land Trust.
